Gear Corner: Badfish MVP 10'6

I get questions just about everyday about what stand up paddle board to buy. People are asking for versatility, stability, and durability. The MVP 10'6 from Badfish Stand Up Paddle has all of the above. Designed as a true all-around style SUP, this board will perform well in many different conditions.

Versatility:
At 10'6" long, and 32" wide, the MVP falls right in the sweet spot of an awesome traditional sized board. The deck is recessed .5" below the rails, perfect for comfortably touring flat-water, or providing a stable platform for SUP yoga.
The rails are thinned out at the tail for on-wave performance while surfing in the ocean or in the river on large, flat waves.  My favorite place to paddle this board is in Class 1-2 whitewater, especially at local town runs and whitewater parks with pool/ drop style features.  There is  extra volume in the nose, which helps punch through eddy lines and creates a super smooth and buttery paddling experience in moving water.

Stability:
The MVP series of boards was first introduced with the 9'0 version, which is known industry wide as one the most stable and fun boards to run big whitewater. The 10'6" draws inspiration from the 9'0, specifically in the chined rails and nose rocker. This design provides extra stability and ease-of-use when paddling in Class 1-2 whitewater, or in windy conditions on the lake.

Durability:
Badfish uses a blend of fiberglass and innegra to build this hardboard. Better glide and performance than an inflatable, and far more durability than traditional fiberglass and epoxy constructions. These boards hold up very well, my MVP has been through 2 seasons of river racing, training, and demo days throughout the Rocky Mountains.  It's still in great shape, and has many more sessions left.

If you have any questions about this board please comment below or find me on one of the many waterways around Colorado!!
